Catholic School Inspection
As a Catholic school within the Archdiocese of Southwark, St Philomena’s is inspected to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of our Catholic life, Religious Education and prayer and worship.
Our most recent Catholic school inspection took place in December 2022, when St Philomena’s was judged to be a Good Catholic school, with a number of areas recognised as Outstanding.
Inspectors particularly recognised the strength of our pupils’ experience of Catholic life, their engagement and achievement in Religious Education, and their participation in prayer and collective worship.
The report describes St Philomena’s as a “welcoming and nurturing school” with a “strong sense of community and family ethos” and recognises that our pupils are confident, articulate and proud of their school.
We are proud of the report’s recognition of the way our children contribute to the Catholic life of St Philomena’s and of the commitment of our pupils, staff, families, governors and parish community to ensuring that our faith is lived each day.
